  • Abstract
The authors investigated the mechanism of gas discharges under high E/N conditions. From the result, it is predicted that many activated species are generated in the ionized space by the Monte Carlo simulation. For example, many ions with kinetic energy larger than 100 eV are expected. Gaseous discharge under high E/N conditions is effective to improve surface properties of polymers. The authors are interested in chemical and/or physical functions on the PTFE surface, one of the most stable polymers, in view of not only chemistry but also to extend the electrical application
