PSTN survey for V.fast studies

Much of the effort in the V.fast Rapporteur Group in CCITT Study Group XVII has been devoted to the definition of a test suite suitable for evaluating proposed modem technologies, which is representative of the public switched telephone network of today and the future. During the week of December 9-14, 1991, Motorola Codex implemented a test plan to capture a snapshot of today´s switched network within Europe, and between Europe and North America. It is recognized that this is far from representing a scientific sample, however the results are indicative of what one should expect to find within the regions tested.
