Abstract
The authors describe the design and operation of a high speed arbitrary waveform generator. Although it is used primarily as a research tool for investigating ADC and DAC performance, it has a potentially wider application in the area of low cost automated testing (ATE). As the generator is transputer-based, parallel processing can be used to produce an ATE system with a shorter test time than one based solely on GPIB
