  • Abstract
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) introduced a cogeneration system using a gas engine generator into its Osaka network center in 1990. It is composed of two 1200 kW gas engine generators, two hot water driven absorption chillers, two steam-driven absorption chillers and a system controller. Electric power is generated by the engine generator and is supplied to communication systems, lighting systems, etc. via power receiving equipment in parallel with a commercial power source. The highly efficient system saves energy, is cost effective, and can be used to power air conditioning and heating systems as well telecommunication systems
