Abstract
The author looks at the sources of mains interference and explains corruption mechanisms with the help of a high-frequency equivalent circuit of a typical piece of mains powered equipment in a metal case with an interface to external equipment. He also describes retro-fit solutions such as fitting filters at the external interfaces, design guidelines worth considering when embarking on a new design and testing for mains interference immunity
