Abstract
The accurate measurement of the dielectric properties in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum, between 300 MHz and 300 GHz is especially important. Microwaves have a wide range of applications including telecommunications, drying, sintering, fusion, biological and medical studies, so dielectric properties of materials are very important. The author investigates several methods for measuring dielectric properties, they are: transmission line methods; resonant cavity methods; the open resonator method; the free space method; the mode stirred cavity method; the calorimeter method; and microstrip and stripline methods
