Abstract
Describes the solid modelling engine (SME), a multi-modeller engine developed at Leeds University. The role of SME in a design to product (DtoP) system is to act as a geometry server. Given well specified input data, the SME performs geometric computations and returns well specified output data. It makes no external calls to other DtoP tools and is therefore completely independent of them
