A Software Process Tailoring Approach Using a Unified Lifecycle Template

Software process tailoring is critical for software organizations, since project defined process is tailored from organizational standard processes and the project plan is generated, executed, monitored and controlled accordingly. However, process tailoring is usually carried out by following an ad-hoc approach, and the amount of researches done on this topic to date can be considered small. In this paper, a systematic approach to process tailoring using a unified lifecycle template is presented. Additionally, a prototype tool, Cyber Eagle Suite, is implemented to support the process tailoring approach based on the proposed unified lifecycle template. We believe that the proposed approach is helpful in process tailoring.
