Abstract
This paper introduces Developmental Turing Machines (DTMs) as a developmental model for computing machines. A developmental machine is a device that is able to increase its structure and functionality as it operates in interaction with its environment. The model is proposed to overcome some shortcomings of Classical Computation and to frame the future development of the full theory of Developmental Computation.
