Abstract
To give PLC technology in the utility market any chance standards are required. For preparation of standardization process a broad verification of the channel, topology models and existing DLC physical layers is necessary. This broad analysis is only possible if utilities can perform this with their own staff. For enabling this an automated channel and performance measurement system for narrowband PLC (<500 kHz) on medium-voltage and low-voltage lines has been developed. This paper presents the motivation, methods, realization and possible use of the generated measurements results.
