Abstract
Interfacial dynamics of liquid columns are a fundamental problem of fluid science in microgravity. The dynamic behavior of an axisymmetrically oscillating magnetic liquid column in a uniform magnetic field is examined using random vibration. In particular, the dynamic characteristics of liquid columns can be investigated from the transient response. In order to obtain the transient response of the lowest mode (0,1), the convolution of system response function with a band-pass filter and an input test function (impulse waveform) is used. The experimental results indicate that the dynamic characteristics of a liquid column is influenced by a magnetic field
