Abstract
A joint layer resource allocation algorithm is proposed for CDMA networks carrying integrated services. The link quality requirements of heterogeneous services, which measured in fading channel environments, as well as other physical layer resources are mapped into the equivalent spectral bandwidth which can be allocated to calls in different layers with the cross- layer optimization. The QoS in terms of BER and latency time for different services can be guaranteed by the scheme. The numerical results show that the performance of the proposed system in terms of spectral efficiency is better than that of the existing systems.
