Abstract :
To improve spatial descriptions in evacuation model, this paper establishes an analysis process for variable distributions in 3d continuous space. The features of distributions were captured to simulate spatial cognition and way finding for occupants. Evacuation strategies including follow, walk-aside, crawl and crossover were designed accordingly and a behavioral model was constructed. Technologies such as texture mapping and skeletal animation were employed to represent appearance and behaviors of variables in 3d environment. The results demonstrate that 3d scenario analysis can comprehensively represent spatial relations and facilitate realistic evacuation simulation with graphics engine. The simulation can support computer aided building design regarding evacuation safety in disaster and emergencies.
