Abstract
The new Class 465 Networker units will operate in trains of up to 12-cars in length and will have a peak current of 8.1 kA. This increase in loading will in part be compensated for by regenerative braking and greater use of coasting, but the system will have to provide higher currents. The author looks at the preparation of power supplies for the locomotives
