  • Abstract
    The author addresses the problem of cochannel radio signal interference which inhibits direction finding (DF) and accurate demodulation. An approach has been developed, using eigenanalysis and adaptive array techniques, for calculating two-dimensional lines-of-bearing on multiple incoherent signals incident on an eight-element circularly disposed, small aperture antenna array and for allowing copy of each of the signals. The direction-finding approach is based upon R.O. Schmidt´s (1981) MUSIC algorithm and the copy algorithm is based upon a signal subtraction method, which utilizes eigenvalue and eigenvector data. A numerical simulation of both the DF and copy approaches was performed to evaluate their performance in multiple scenarios.<>
