Abstract
Wideband high-gain operation can be achieved with a corner reflector (CR) excited by a log-periodic dipole array (LPDA). By changing the LPDA parameters, the LPDA active-region-to-CR corner spacing can be adjusted to obtain the required radiation characteristics, and the operating bandwidth can be modified as well. On the other hand, gain and directional pattern can be changed with the variation of the CR size and angle. The CR/LPDA problem is analyzed numerically for any LPDA parameters and with any CR dimensions and angle. Numerical results are presented. In particular, the half-power beamwidth of the H-plane and E-plane patterns vs. frequency are shown.<>
