Abstract :
The complexities of power systems have called for more advanced technologies to be deployed to maintain the system´s integrity. More accurate and real-time base tagging of electrical data has therefore been employed to suit this paradigm shifts in electrical advancements. This paper gives an overview of real-time wide area monitoring of power systems using synchroscopes, for remote monitoring and fast service recovery from electrical faults. This has been done through a comprehensive review of existing research literature in this field.
