Abstract
Based on the preliminary study on technical feasibility of UHV Half Wave-length AC Transmission (HWACT), the study focus on the economic analysis and reliability assessment of UHV HWACT. Combined with the latest economic analysis research results of UHV AC and DC transmission technology, the minimal cost method are used to perform different schemes comparison and sensitivity analysis between the UHV HWACT and ±800 kV UHV DC transmission in this paper. The critical economic transmission capacity and upper limit of additional control cost are given in this paper. The economic analysis of UHV HWACT and ±1000 kV UHV DC transmission are compared. Furthermore, UHV HWACT and ±800 kV UHV DC transmission are evaluated by reliability evaluation method, and quantitative reliability results are obtained.
