Abstract
The integral equation for the multiradius wire antenna is derived, and the characteristics of this antenna are investigated numerically by applying Galerkin´s method to this equation. The optimum location of discontinuous thickness, which widens the bandwidth in 50- Omega matching, has been revealed. The bandwidth of a monopole antenna with a discontinuous radius becomes wide compared to the thick uniradius monopole. The radius ratio affects the frequency characteristics of the input impedance, and it is shown that the bandwidth can be widened as the ratio increases.<>
