Abstract
On the 1st April 1990 a new set of regulations, designed to protect work-people against dangers from electricity, came into force. These regulations, called the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 replace or modify a number of statutory provisions to the effect that electrical safety is governed by these Regulations alone within the United Kingdom. Moreover these Regulations cover all people at work and not just those in factories, etc., as before. The number of people covered has been trebled. The author considers the regulations that do not apply to mines and also presents tables of work descriptions
