Abstract
This paper analyzes the transitions from microstrip to parallel plate and microstrip to rectangular waveguides, through an aperture in the microstrip ground plane. The analysis is carried out using the integral equation technique of electric and magnetic currents solved using the method of moments. The Green´s functions are derived using the accurate and highly convergent complex image technique. FDTD results are also obtained for the above transitions to verify the accuracy of the complex image solution. Very good agreement is found for both transitions.
