Abstract
The system described is a low cost modular system capable of tracking features through many frames. Feature extraction is achieved by a system which captures the input data, acquired from a video camera, and then identifies the features within the captured image. This has application in many areas, including cell motion analysis, guidance for mobile robots, etc., but the system has mainly been tested on analysing walking humans. This paper describes the system and its successful results. It has been demonstrated that the system can successfully track a sequence of images in which a person was on a horizontal line, up or down stairs
