  • Abstract
Measurements of three different millimeter-wave integrated-circuit antennas are reported. These antennas were developed in an effort to find a moderate-gain millimeter-wave IC antenna composed of strictly planar elements. The first and most elementary antenna is a resonant strip dipole (0.390 mm long) on a finite thickness substrate. The next antenna combines the dipole with a metal disc placed on the opposite side of the substrate. The final antenna combines the dipole with a Fresnel zone plate/reflector combination on the opposite side of the substrate. The unique feature of these antennas is that all of the components are made using simple IC fabrication techniques: simple metal depositions on dielectric layers. Power patterns are presented.<>
