  • Abstract
The latest 3M development in digital optical storage is the rewritable optical disc which can be written upon, read, erased and re-written upon repeatedly with little practical limitation, like a magnetic disc. The first generation of 3M optical rewritable products is a laminate structure of two moulded polycarbonate discs, to form one or two-sided storage media as required. The laser reads and writes through the substrate and this construction is referred to as a substrate incident construction
