  • Abstract
The Green´s function method with the Fourier transformation of the spectral domain is used to obtain the relation between the propagation constant and the width of the strips for a periodically loaded leaky-wave antenna. Two antennas corresponding to different source amplitude distributions have been designed and made. It is concluded that different source amplitudes of the leaky-wave antenna can be realized by means of a periodically loaded, fundamentally slow, traveling-wave structure, where the widths of the strips are different. As a result, the desired pattern can be obtained. The maximum radiation direction of the antennas changes with frequency: therefore, frequency-scanning can be realized over a large region.<>
