Abstract
The authors present the application of a simple electro-optic sampling system to the characterisation of high speed photodetectors. The device under test is excited with a train of modelocked laser pulses, and hence emits a train of short electrical pulses. By modulating the bias of the photodetector, the electrical pulse train is modulated at audio frequency
