Abstract :
The author discusses ways of utilising fault recorders to provide information which can be used in monitoring protection and switchgear performance. It is argued that the information can be used to reduce switchgear maintenance costs. Comparisons are made between the specifications, and methods of installation, for transmission and distribution system applications
