Abstract :
This paper presents a wireless-based virtual salesman system to interact with mobile users by providing an electronic virtual salesman to support wireless shopping. The paper not only reports the system architecture and design, but also introduces a virtual salesman concept and presents an intelligent solution which supports the interactions between virtual salesman and mobile users. A context-based interaction model is proposed as the base of the intelligent solution, and the related reasoning rules are given to model marketing and sales business logistics. The major difference between this system and the existing online-based e-commerce systems is that our system uses an electronic virtual salesman to actively interact with end customers to drive and conduct product promotions, selection, and trading operations. The paper presents an application example to demonstrate how to automatically interact with mobile device users using a wireless-based virtual salesman.
