Abstract
Describes a linear polarisation switch (polar selector) which is based on Faraday rotation in an axially magnetised ferrite rod. The polariser is designed to be readily integrated into commonly available feedhorns for offset parabolic dish antennas. Performance statistics for several thousand devices manufactured to date are presented. Finally a prototype polar selector suitable for tracking antenna systems which allow all four polarisation types to be separated is described
