Abstract
High quality research in control systems deals with problems that are abstractions of many general engineering problems; whose solution is both analytically tractable and of practical significance. There can be a continuing source of international activity and interaction between control theorists and practitioners where the techniques are originated, assessed and then modified to cater for a wider class of problems
