Abstract
A small loop antenna constructed with YBCO superconducting wire is demonstrated. The radiation efficiency shows a 5db improvement over an equivalent supercooled copper antenna. In addition, as the power input to the antenna is increased an increase in the antenna conduction losses is observed as the superconductor critical current is reached
