Abstract
The Contel ASC-DMN3000 system has been developed from the Starcom system, designed by engineers at Comsat Technology Products. A number of new software features have been included and the antenna and indoor unit have been redesigned. The system now incorporates various transmission modes based on time division multiple access. The Starcom product capability of TDM on the outbound and RA-TDMA on the inbound carriers, has now been enhanced to include fixed frame TDMA, reservation TDMA and random access with notification TDMA (RAN)
