  • Abstract
A number of CODE related activities are currently in progress at the University of Surrey. The activities can be classified in three categories. The co-ordination of the design, manufacture, and testing of a UK sourced CODE VSAT terminal, link performance simulation using TOPSIM and BOSS, and the simulation of candidate link protocols using the SIMSCRIPT simulation package. The final acceptance testing of the CODE terminal has taken place, and included transmission tests over the Olympus satellite. The link performance simulations have served as an input to the CODE design group. The protocol simulations represent an independent study of protocols that may be applicable to a VSAT system such as CODE
