Abstract :
There are a number of major hazard installations in industry, which are the source of grave accidents, so it is urgent to take effective measures to control and manage these installations. In this paper, wireless sensor networks are introduced into the major hazard installations monitoring to develop a distributed real-time monitoring system for the first time. This system fixes up disadvantages of the traditional monitoring system. And this paper describes the design of monitoring nodes and sink nodes in detail, and the low energy consumption monitoring algorithm. The monitoring node with the latest WSN SoC chip CC2530 can monitor several characteristics of the installation at the same time; moreover, it is with small size, low energy consumption and high RF performance. For better communication QoS, the sink node employs the Ethernet interface to link to the system application servers. In conclusion, the monitoring system over WSN has well performance on the Major Hazard Installation Monitoring Application.
