Abstract :
We investigated the static and dynamic fracture characteristics of glass substrates of hard disks using FEM analysis. We introduced an evaluation method using a static stability parameter, "fracture load", and a dynamic stability parameter, "impact critical acceleration." Thickness is the most effective parameter to increase the fracture load. The fracture load and impact critical acceleration have a positive relationship.
