Abstract
The author describes an expert system that performs real-time diagnosis of a large telecommunication digital radio network. She presents the diagnosis in layers emulating the techniques of experienced field engineers. The first two layers provide measured estimates of likely causes for network failures. The last layer determines detailed causes for network misbehaviour reported in the first two layers
