Abstract
A series of tests of the Advanced Development Model (ADM) thermal ice drill, were conducted at the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, Hanover, New Hampshire, during August of 1982, as part of the Arctic Air Deployed Oceanographic Mooring (ADOM) project. The drill is part of an autonomous system intended to facilitate the collection of oceanographic data in inaccessible regions of the Arctic. This paper describes the drill operation and test results.
