Abstract
The authors discuss the structure and scope of the malfunction statistics of the Austrian power networks. The HV and MV networks are then briefly described. The influence of the malfunction statistics on network management and maintenance is discussed. Means to prevent malfunctions are discussed as is the minimisation of maintenance costs with the aid of new diagnostic systems
