Abstract :
Investigates the realization of 2-D digital filters based on the lower-upper triangular (LU) decomposition of the coefficient matrix. Based on QR decomposition, a novel numerical method that has some important characteristics is proposed to obtain the LU structure. Furthermore, the QR structure can be used for the realization and possesses good numerical characteristics in terms of the approximate realization scheme and the coefficients´ values in the structure
