Abstract :
A novel framework for real-time image patch matching is proposed in this paper. It is composed of two parts: (a) a one-way descriptor based on Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), (b) an optimal affine parameter quantization for descriptor dimensionality reduction. With these improvements, the patch matching is much faster than the state-of-art method and the training stage is fast enough to be performed online without the loss of accuracy or robustness. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed framework in matching patches, while keeping affine invariant. Moreover, it works well in object detection and pose estimation applications.
