Welcome to the Eleventh IEEE and ACM International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR 2012)! We are excited that this year´s symposium is being held on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, at Georgia Tech´s Hotel and Conference Center. Located in the center of Altanta, Georgia, USA, Georgia Tech is one of the top public research universities in the United States, and a nationally ranked leader in many of the academic disciplines that form the heart of ISMAR: Computer Science, Engineering, HCI, Robotics & Computer Vision, and Digital Media. Atlanta is one of the largest cities in the United States, often considered the “capital of the South” and played a central role in the American Civil War and the Civil Rights movement. With a diverse and young population, Atlanta is a dynamic city with many cultural and historic attractions, restaurants, shopping, sports and outdoor activities. Atlanta is served by Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the worlds busiest airport.
