  • Abstract
In 1986, the DTI announced the funding to set up the Software Tools Demonstration Centre (STDC). The STDC has been well received by industry. The centre performs the important function of providing a controlled environment where a wide range of software tools may be evaluated and demonstrated, and thereby assist organisations in their selection process. The DTI announced in September 1986 the Software Engineering Demonstrator Initiative (SEDI), which is designed to complement the previous schemes and the activities of the STDC. SEDI is concentrating on the end-user and providing a scheme that will enable the selected projects to be openly monitored throughout the period of support from the DTI. A summary of SEDI supported projects is given
