  • Abstract
The reconstruction of real power system incidents has attained an important role in better understanding of power system behaviour with the final object of continually improving the quality and continuity of service. With this aim the 1/1 CEGB-EDE-ENEL Working Group created Task Force 1/4 in order to compare the points of view of the three utilities about the methodologies of reconstruction of system incidents. Apart from the necessary `database for post-mortem analysis´ (passive network parameters, reactances, time constants, types of regulators, and so on), a methodology of reconstruction of system incidents refers to the following three phases: the analysis of all the available experimental information and the reconstruction of the sequence of events; the simulation of the static and dynamic behaviour of the system during the various phases of the incident; and the definition of corrective measures. The authors discuss the first two points for each of the utilities and then briefly discuss corrective measures
