Abstract
Both UV and IR systems have become an accepted branch of engineering practice, not only in the UK but on a world-wide basis. Electric systems provide industry with a versatile but inexpensive energy source capable of satisfying a vast range of process requirements. When correctly applied these systems can play an important part in the drive towards energy savings, product quality, pollution abatement, higher profit margins through higher productivity, and increased competitiveness in trade on world markets. The authors discuss the applications of IR and UV in heating and curing. Equipment selection, safety and benefits are also discussed
