Abstract :
As the important part of port development planning and possibility research, port throughput prediction can give us a direction of the development strategy and management strategy. This study has important theory meaning and actual engineering reference value. This article combines the Gray prediction method GM (1, 1) and Markov prediction method and puts forward the Gray-Markov method. The improved Gray-Markov method is employed to forecast the cargo throughput of Tianjin port. More accurate conclusions are drawn as compared with the Gray method. It is proved that the Gray-Markov method is more reliable and effective for policy makers. Finally, from the results, in the future period of time, the cargo throughput of Tianjin port is rising, which is inseparable from effective measures that Tianjin port has proposed.
