Abstract
A major obstacle to the acceptance of office automation is the difficulty for the reader in working with, and conceptually understanding, the electronic document. These key issues are central to the successful implementation of the electronic office. If a new technology is to gain acceptance it typically must provide a higher level of productive efficiency with a similar, or greater, east of use compared to the existing technology. The first requirement is clearly met but the second is still to be achieved
