Abstract
Discusses some possible uses of IKBS techniques in the domain of manufacturing-specifically flexible manufacturing systems. The application is in control of part of an existing factory system. The necessity to maintain a real-time system places some significant and awkward constraints on any techniques used. The problem area is discussed together with the work which has been done using IKBS techniques to provide a solution
