Abstract
Consideration is given to the load balancing problem among the multiple message handling processors (MHPs) of the access switching subsystem for No.7 signaling (ASS-7) in the TDX-10 systems. The authors suggest an internal routing algorithm in the internal network to balance the workload among MHPs on the basis that the 12-bit circuit identification code (CIC) identifying the trunk circuit is uniformly distributed. They formulate approximately the load unbalancing factor as a function of the number of failed MHPs in the worst case. With this formula, it is shown that all MHPs are loaded almost equally regardless of the number of failed MHPs
