Abstract :
The ear-to-ear on-body path gain (|S21|) at 2.45 GHz is measured in the time domain. The measurements were conducted in a radio anechoic environment to study the effects of the on-body paths only. Two different monopole antenna configurations that are polarized normal and tangential to the surface of the head, respectively, are compared. The results are presented in terms of mean path gain, Cumulative Distribution Function, Average Fade Duration, and Level Crossing Rate. Several probability distributions are fitted to the data by the use of Maximum Likelihood Estimation and ranked according to their goodness-of-fit.
