Abstract :
In this paper, a double-sided dielectric resonator antenna array fed by a dielectric insular image guide is proposed. A complete design process with theoretical calculation and 3D modelling simulation is given. This 10-element antenna array has a 15 dB gain at 60 GHz, which is 2 dB enhancement over a single-sided array and the cross- polarization is suppressed by more than 30 dB. Also, with the employment of an insular layer in the dielectric image guide, the predicted antenna efficiency is as high as 93%.
